RED BEANS ...
I have been to Super Value in Edgecumbe, New Wrld and Pac N Save in Whakatane and Binn Inn also ... no red beans. However ... I have discovered that there are green, white, broad, pink, baked, mixed beans. Have also discovered many more that I cant remember but there were no RED BEANS ... I have Red Kidney Beans but just plain Red Beans are nowhere to be seen.
I have also discovered that Binn Inn in Whakatane stock the best range of Gluten Free stuff - expensive but so is New World.
So I came home with no beans! Did however call into Julians Berry farm and got some strawberries and spray free tangelos (apparently).
I am off to cook dinner - as you guessed its not red beans!

Nah - I have asked all the stores I visited to get some red beans in!
Andrea, I thought you meant there were no Red Kidney Beans (only Red Beans: I wasn't sure what Red Beans there are *other* than Kidney Beans). I use Red Kidney Beans ... and always re-stock when I use a tin.
Use the Red Kidney Beans!!!
Too funny! My goodness the supervisors for all those supermarkets will be trying to find just plain red beans! I know one of them personally, so she will give me "heaps" ... what a sream - well we will see what they come up with - hehe!
I have made the recipe with Red Kidney beans. It was yum.
